Former Elkhart County Sheriff's Officer Donald McQuarie was cleared of any alleged wrongdoing by a Jury after being found Not Guilty on October 22, 2024. McQuarie was accused of violating an Indiana Ghost Employment law and faced a level 6 felony. After a 2 day trial in the Elkhart Superior Court 3 before the Hon. Teresa Cataldo, Judge, presiding, the six member jury deliberated less than an hour before arriving at its verdict. Donald was represented by Phillip Miller of Leatherman & Miller.
Donald and his wife Dawn were confident in his innocence and expressed their thankfulness to the staff at Leatherman & Miller and to the members of the jury. His wife Dawn testified that the past two years leading up to the trial had been emotionally challenging for both of them. However, they were confident that the justice system would prove true. The Jury's verdict for Don has been a true blessing to their entire family and they have a new outlook on their future moving forward into this Joyful Thanksgiving season.
We would like to thank Don and Dawn for allowing us to share this story with our viewers.
